Borough Guide

Best Pizza in Brooklyn

Brooklyn is the deepest pizza borough in the city, and the most argued-over.

You've got coal ovens in Coney Island and under the Brooklyn Bridge, Sicilian squares in Gravesend, and corner slice shops that never make anybody's list but hold their neighborhoods together. A Brooklyn slice tends to be a little heavier than a Manhattan one, with more cheese and a sturdier crust. If you only have one afternoon, start in Carroll Gardens, then head down to Gravesend for a Sicilian square.
