The short version. This is a free pizza map. Use it, enjoy it, don’t scrape it wholesale or pass it off as yours.
Call ahead before you travel. Hours and ratings come from Google and they go stale.
You can delete your account yourself, any time, from your passport page.
Who you are dealing with
NYC Pizza Map (pizzamap.nyc) is run by one person in Brooklyn, New York. Using the site means you accept what is on this page. If you don’t, that’s fine — don’t use it.
Anything here that you want to ask about goes to hello@pizzamap.nyc.
What this costs
Nothing. There is no subscription, no paywall and no account required to use any part of the site. The site takes no payments at all, so there is nothing here about billing, renewals or refunds.
What the listings are actually worth
This matters more than anything else on this page, so it goes near the top.
The map lists real businesses. Their addresses were checked by hand, but their opening hours and star ratings come from Google and are only as current as Google is. Restaurants change hours, close for a month, move, or shut for good, and they rarely tell a pizza map first.
So: treat everything here as a starting point, not a promise. Call ahead before you cross a borough for a slice. If a place has closed or moved, tell me and I’ll fix it.
The opinions are mine. “Editor’s Choice” means these are the places I personally recommend. You may disagree, and that’s the whole fun of pizza.
Your account
You don’t need one. Marking pizzerias works without signing in — it just stays in that browser.
If you do sign in, it’s by a link sent to your email or through Google. A few things worth knowing:
- Use an email address you actually control. Anyone who can read that inbox can sign in as you.
- You can delete your account yourself, from the button on your passport page. It removes the account and every pizzeria saved to it, straight away.
- Marks saved in a browser without an account are not backed up anywhere. Clear your browser data and they are gone, and I cannot get them back.
- I can close an account that is being used to attack the site or abuse other people. That’s it — I have no interest in policing anybody’s pizza opinions.
Suggesting a spot
If you send a pizzeria through the Suggest a Spot form, you’re giving me permission to put it on the map and write about it. Send things you have the right to send.
I can’t promise every suggestion gets added. Most do, but this is a curated map, not a directory.
What’s mine and what you can do with it
The writing, the photographs, the guides, the design and the assembled list of pizzerias are mine. Plain facts — a restaurant’s name and address — belong to nobody, but the collection, the research behind it and the words around it took years.
You’re welcome to: use the site, share links to it, quote a bit of it with credit, and screenshot a page for a friend or a post.
Please don’t: scrape or bulk-copy the dataset, republish the guides as your own, or build a competing map out of what’s here. If you want to do something with the data, just ask — the answer is often yes.
Links to other places
The site links out to pizzerias’ own pages, to Google Maps, to subway information and to a few shops. Those are somebody else’s sites and I don’t control what they do or what they say.
When things break
I run this on my own and I try to keep it accurate and online, but I can’t guarantee either. The site may go down, a listing may be wrong, and a feature may change or disappear.
Put plainly: use the site at your own risk. It is provided as it is, with no warranty, and I’m not liable for losses that come from relying on it — a wasted trip, a closed restaurant, a disappointing slice. If some law where you live says a bit of that can’t be disclaimed, then it isn’t, and the rest still stands.
Children
This site isn’t aimed at children under 13 and accounts aren’t for them. See the privacy policy for what that means in practice.
Changes to these terms
If this changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change is genuinely significant I’ll say so on the page rather than quietly editing a line.
Which law applies
New York State law, and the courts of New York. I’m one person in Brooklyn; suing me somewhere else would be a lot of effort for a pizza map.
