NYC Pizza Map

About this site

A love letter to New York pizza

I grew up in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, in the heart of the Italian-American community. You couldn't walk a few blocks without coming across another pizzeria. Where I come from, pizza has always been more than food — it's the table everyone gathered around, it's the place you hung out at after school with your friends, it's the delivery guy that you knew on a first name basis who would just walk into your house. Pizzerias are the place where so many memories are made. This map is my way of making sure those memories keep happening.

How the list is made

This is a curated "best of," not a full directory. Every spot on the map has to earn its place. You're serving soggy, garbage slices that have been out for hours? You're not getting on this list. This is New York City, not Bumblefuck Ohio, OK?

The list is built by aggregating critical consensus, long-standing neighborhood staples, and my own personal taste from the last 40 years of eating New York pizza. You want a classic after-school slice? A Sicilian square? A Neapolitan pie? This list has it all.

Something wrong? Something missing?

Places close, pizzaiolos move on, and the city never stops changing. A place you like isn't on here? Are you gonna cry? Let me know, maybe we'll add 'em to the list.
